Pete Watkins is a singer, guitarist, entertainer, songwriter.

In the early days Pete’s performed and recorded with bands in South Wales, The Reaction, The Steps and Number Nine Blast with a busy and extensive gig circuit, there were many live radio performances and several recording sessions, including one at the famous BBC Radio Maida Vale Studios in London, followed by ‘spins’ on Radio 1 shows by John Peel and Mark Goodyear. Some of these songs appear on the Pete Watkins album ‘Madness In My Method’.

Pete moved to Oxfordshire and went solo with the acoustic guitar building a strong reputation as a singer and guitarist at venues around the country. Pete covers an enormous range of songs gathered from years of experience and thousands of gigs. When in his home country of Wales Pete received years of expert vocal training from a top singing coach. This is evident in his vocal performances.

Pete has played support to Midge Ure, The Blockheads, The Kast Off Kinks, Bruce Foxton, MAN and more.

SONGWRITER - “ever since I was able to play my first chords I was writing songs” . Pete now crafts delicious songs across a wide range of genres from rock, blues, folk, jazz and country. Pete performs these solo and with a three piece band called the Pete Watkins Originals. Releasing two acoustic albums of original compositions - Iron Stone and Steel 2014 and Palace of Varieties in 2018. A new album is being compiled with plans to record later in 2022.

The Kinks Fan Club - Pete has been a regular performer at the annual international fan club convention in London and also in Utrecht. Playing acoustic versions of Kinks classics and rarities. In 2021 performing an acoustic presentation of the ‘Muswell Hillbillies’ album alongside members of The Kinks.
