The Steps reformed for a three gigs during July, including The Hook Norton Beer Festival on Satursday 16th July. One of Wales’ most exciting bands of the late 80′s and 90′s, The Steps toured the UK and recorded for Radio 1 at the famous Maida Vale Studios. The Steps performed the acclaimed album ‘Madness in My Method’ with the original band line-up of Pete Watkins, gtr/voc, Colin Baler on Bass and the amazing Mike Morales on drums. Samples of some of the tracks can be found on this website, Corners, Split Personality and I Need You.

The Reactions and The Steps appeared at Taibach Rubgy Club on Sunday 24th July. The Reactions featuring Pete Watkins gtr/vocs , Paul Needs on bass/vocs and Mike Morales on drums. The Reactions were playing the South Wales and South and West circuits in the early 80′s from Bristol to Blackwood, London to Llanelli. Making music that was the bedrock of the South Wales sound which was to become popular with the world famous Manic Street Preachers and the Stereophonics. This was a one-off chance to see the band in action at a small venue in their home town of Port Talbot. It’s rumoured that some video footage might be available, it may pop up on YouTube or even get released at some later date.
